Using DVI - VGA adaptors with Ion displays

Hi, 
 We have got some old VGA monitors that I had hoped I could use as additional displays for our Ion. I bought a couple of DVI - VGA adaptors, but although this all fits together, I have had no luck getting an image on the screen. Any suggestions?

The ports on the back of an Ion are DVI-D not DVI-I. The D stands for Digital. VGA is an analog signal. In order to get from digital to analog you will need an active converter. It can't be done with a bit of wire. 
 You can use the VGA port to get one of the monitors working.
