Park.... a Query

Ok, next debatable topic.  Right now, park is maintained in persistent storage.  That means if you cycle power to the desk, the park information is maintained.   Is this what you would expect?

It is also included in your show file.  So, if you load a new show file, it will replace the current park information.  Is this what you'd expect?

  • If the channels as been parked it mean that someone want to park it . If it has to be unparked then it must be unparked.

If I save the show I wish I don't have to care about little options once I load the entire show on a secondary consolle. Once  the show it's loaded it have to be right it was in the other desk. Simple rules for better life.

  • Thanks Emil,

That is exactly my point.  Things that were saved in my show as parked addresses are no longer in my show.  It is not a massive deal at this point, as I do have sheets that track all of this information so I was able to recreate all my parked addresses fairly quickly.

However, I would like to know if saving a show  no longer includes the PARK information.  Or if it does, how do I get the show to load the PARK data?

Sorry, forgot to mention I am using an ION here.

    Thanks.

  • Hi guys.  Early on, Park was saved in your show file... and reloaded when you loaded your show.  Many people complained about this, so we pulled it out.  Our intent is to go back to saving park with your file, and on a show open, if you don't want the park buffer to reload, you'd need to do a partial show open, with [Park] not selected.   To do this effectively, we need to make a few changes to the way a partial show read works.

Look for this in the future.

    Hope that helps.

  • So it will default to loading the park buffer when you do a show open?!

I can see this being quite a large problem for us..

  • I agree rabidly.  It's really really going to be a problem to default  to loading in with the show file.

    Please no.

  • Maybe I am the only person who understands what Anne is trying to tell us here.  But how could having the OPTION to load your parks when you open a show file be "a problem"??  Right now, it is a massive problem if that information WAS part of the show and you need to reload the show and it is no longer there!!

It would be no different than telling the console you do not want it to load your cues, or patch or pallettes etc.  Simply UNSELECT the PARK button (once the function is actually implimented) and it is no different than your lives would have been before.

At this point in time, not having the option to load my parks at all is actually where my problem lies.

Anne, thank you very much for adding this option to your already huge list of requests.  Since I work for a company that often remounts its shows (many times over), I would like the option to load any part of the show.

    Cheers,
    Darren
