Issues with RGBW LEDS

Our auditorium has 12 RGBW LEDs. They appear to be an off brand. The company that installed them did not patch them in as LED instruments however. They read as typical Dimmers under type and take up multiple individual channels. However, our system has some bugs in it right now and I am trying to start from a clean show. I have programmed them in as Generic RGBW LED instruments on Universe 2 and they all appear to be 1 channel off. The instruments are addressed at 300, 310, 320 ...... etc. When I patch them at Universe 2 Address 300, 310, 320...... each of the controls that the board has seems to be off by one. For instance, the red channel actually controls intensity and the gree channel controls red color.

Please Help!

  • Hi, Patch the series of addresses back to dimmers, one chan per. Then you can find what address controls what. My guess is they are IRGBW (the I being intensity). There is a generic fixture for this - try this first it's very common. If they are something else you can create a custom fixture once you work out what address does what.

    hope this helps.

  • O.K., so I got them working back in April. However, now others have used our system and messed things up. When I attempt to add the fixtures again, I go to Patch and then select a channel and hit enter. When I go to Type and select Generic RGBW, it gives me a syntax error.
