New fixture library, older software

Hi.
One of our consoles, for various reasons, won't be updated to v2 for another couple of months - but there's a fixture that's just been included in the Eos Family v2.0.0 Library Changes v8.7.0 Build 22 file which we could do with using. My question is, is it possible to install this latest fixture library patch on a console that's still running v1.9.12 software?

  • It is not possible to safely install the new fixture library on top with version 1.9.12. It hasn't been tested, and the library made a significant jump in versions (v1.9.12 had library version 7.6.0, while v2.0.0 has version 8.7.0). There is a significant probability for issues.

Sorry for the inconvenience! The best workaround in the meantime would be to create a custom profile in the software. Alternately, you may be able to patch the fixture in a version 2.0 showfile (fixture library patches can be installed on a Windows PC offline) and open it on the 1.9.12 desk, but you would want to test this out a bit before proceeding.
