Avoiding Recording Over the Wrong Cuelist

you can use macros to trigger the cues and run the macro in background mode.  This way the command line and selected cue list will not change

 

If im' understanding you correct, link a macro that say's "cue 1/ enter" to each cue in the playbacks?

that might be a good work around for this. i'll have to try it. i'll have to try that tomorrow. 

 

I did ask for the same thing awhile back, and i believe they are considering it.

If you build a macro with the "go" from the different playbacks and then set the macro playback mode to background the command line will not follow those cue lists.  This way you can run the cues on those other lists and still keep the main cue list on the command line.  

 

Did anyone ever find a solution or workaround for this issue? I'd like to avoid having to use macros to fire the GO buttons, because I have 80 faders on my wings which I'd like to fill with auxiliary cuelists.

Any executed cue will make that cue list the "selected" cue list.  if you wish to use the go buttons I would suggest making a macro for the "CUE 1/" command and using that after the other go presses.  I haven't figured out any other ways around this.

I GOT IT! You can make a Macro "CUE 1/ ENTER" and make that macro's MODE = FOREGROUND. Then when you link it to execute from a cue in a different list, it will fire that cue, then instantly restore your main cue list.

I will give that a try when I have the time. It sounds like it sould work. I would just have to assign that macro to each cue in my other cue lists.
