Avoiding Recording Over the Wrong Cuelist

Is there a way to avoid recording a cue to the wrong cuelist?

I have cuelists set up on my Ion on several different faders. The idea is to use the content of these cue lists to set various parameters that can then be recorded to a "master cuelist"

When I use the bump button to increment the cuelists, they take focus on the Playback display, and I have to make an effot to ensure that I am recording to the correct cuelist (e.g. RECORD CUE 1/XX, rather than just RECORD CUE XX).

Is there a way to make these cuelists play back without taking over the focus of the command line?

  • Any executed cue will make that cue list the "selected" cue list.  if you wish to use the go buttons I would suggest making a macro for the "CUE 1/" command and using that after the other go presses.  I haven't figured out any other ways around this.

you could use a macro to record your main cue list instead of the record button.  That way it would always post "record cue 1/  " and wait for you to enter the number and press enter.
