Antari HZ300 DMX Issues

Ok,

I need some help.  I am having problems controlling an Antari HZ300 hazer with my Gio.  The Gio is on version 2.

I have the hazer plugged into an opt splitter and all of the signal lights are green.  I have the address set to 124. I have it patched to channel 512.  so when I look at the patch I see the profile for the Antari hazer set to channel 512 and I see the address of the hazer patched to 2/124.  I cannot gain control of the hazer.  I do see the L:ED on the back of the hazer shows signal but I cannot gain control through the board.  hazer works with the remote.

I have the remote unplugged while dmx is connected.  Any suggestions?

  • I'm going to go ahead and ask the obvious.  Are you plugged into the 2nd universe on the GIO console, and has the console been setup with the 2nd DMX port outputting universe 2 (provided port 1 is universe 1?) Or are you going through a DMX Gateway off the network?  If that is the case, is the Gateway setup with a Universe 2 output?

Just have to start with the simple and work up from there.

You could also try bringing up Address 124 in each universe to see where the hazer comes up.

Finally, if it is a dipswitch chart you are following with the hazer, try Address 125 as well.  Some dipswitch address systems have all switches off as DMX 1, and others have it as address 0.  This can lead to an off by 1 situation, which might lead to it not responding. You could also try DMX 123, but I don't usually run into a situation where I am off by 1 in that direction.

    Good luck.

  • Yes I am using universe two and it is plugged in and the out put ports are configured correct.  The moving lights that I have on universe two work fine.  i am just unable to control the hazer.  I will try the channel thing up one and see if that works out better.

  • I currently have two of those units. Neither of those units ever worked with dmx.  I always had to use the remote.  The signal light on mine don't even light up.
