Parking Addresses on Eos

Hi

We have recently upgraded to V2.0 of the operating system on our Eos and I have noticed that parking addresses now seems to be different. We usually park addresses of backstage working lights up on the desk, so that if the stage crew get in before LX all they need to do to get working light is turn on the desk. However, with this new version, the addresses appear to parked up still but the actual lights don't come on until you re-park them. Is this a bug or a new feature? And if it is a new feature how can I get around it so that people with no knowledge of the desk can just turn it on and workers come on automatically.

Thanks

  • Hi Yen,

I'm not seeing this on 2.0.1 which is the current version of the software and I'm not aware of this having changed since 2.0 was released. Might be worth upgrading to 2.0.1 and seeing if you are still seeing this behaviour.

If you always want those lights to be parked on whenever the desk is switched on, you could always create a startup macro and assign that in setup which parks those units on. That way you don't need to leave them on when you switched the desk off also.

    Cheers

  • I'm with Daniel having never seen this behaviour where a channel is parked but fails to light, except perhaps where the power to the fixtures is via a relay circuit that hasn't also been parked.

The upgrade process clears any previously parked channels. They would need to be parked again at some point. After parking them though they should not need to be parked again unless explicitly unparked. A deep clear would likely unpark them too.

Since this is a safety issue, it may be worthwhile to either add a startup macro or an alternate means of control that doesn't rely upon the console, which takes a while to boot.

  • This is a known issue in version 2.0.0 -- updating to 2.0.1 will resolve it. (This was SCR 22717.) This only affects unpatched addresses, FWIW.

    Sorry for the inconvenience!

    Hans

  • I'm parking addresses not channels, if that makes a difference.

I will upgrade again and see what happens, and yes I guess a start up macro will help. Its just that parking them was an easy option that anyone could change quickly if they needed to be at different levels.

    Thanks Dan
