Magic Sheet Request

The theatre I work in primarily has a rep plot and I have created a magic sheet based on that.  The problem comes that I have a couple different designers who come in and channel fixtures differently on a per show basis.  I would love if there was a way to link a symbol on a sheet to an address as opposed to a channel.  Otherwise I have to redirect the targets for the entire magic sheet by hand for each show.

  • Mark, setting an object as output will be included in the 2.1 release.

    Hope that helps.

  • Hey Anne,

I think what Mark is asking for is being able to link an object to an address, but still display the channel that that address is patched to.

So if address 1/1 is patched to channel 5, the MS object's target would be address 1/1, but the object would display "5" instead of its Target ID.

If that address was later patched to channel 1, that same MS object would display "1".

I don't believe that's a simple as setting an object's target to an output. :-(

  • Hi Paul,

Our current implementation of this in 2.1.0 beta should cover this case.  You can set an item to be an "Address" now, and we've added the additional Fields: Channel, Address, Port/Offset, DMX, and DMX Bar.  Meaning, you can have an Address based item that only shows the Channel number.  (You can also have a Channel based item that shows the Address number).  Color/Intensity linking will also continue to work if the address can be tied back to a patched channel.
