Just use learn. Hit LEARN, enter the macro number you want use use, & hit ENTER.
Then, hold down the RELEASE button and tap the LOAD button for the fader with the list you want to release. Hit LEARN again when you're done.
Then, just put a reference to that macro in the "execute" column for that cue.
It takes less time than it sounds like. It helps to organize the macros by associating them with the cuelist numbers - the macro to release List 2 is 102, the macro to release list 11 is 111, etc.
OK how about if I want the macro to also restore the Playback Display to my main cuelist?
I've Learned a macro that successfully releases the cuelist at the end, but no matter what I try, the macro will NOT execute the CUE 1/ ENTER command when it's executed by a cue. When I run the macro manually it works fine.
On the same topic, is it possible to entirely prevent my auxiliary cuelists from taking over my Playback Status Display? I have a lot of single-cue lists that fire effects and looks simultaneously, but I don't want to lose the view of my main cuelist every time I hit Go on them.
There's a small padlock in the top left cover of the PSD. click on it to close it. This will prevent other cuelists to take focus on the playback status display.
fortunately i usually work on consoles with more than one screen, so i'm not too sure about this, but i don't think that you can padlock the psd half of the split screen...
Right, so my workaround would be to make a macro that re-selects the main cuelist and apply it to my cues so that everytime I hit "GO" on a aux fader it will restore my main cuelist.
In fact, this macro technique would be better than just locking the display because I don't want to have to type "GOTO CUE 1/x" every time I want to go to a cue on my main cuelist. Better to just have that main cuelist ALWAYS selected unless I need to edit another list.
But unfortunately, I cannot get this to work...

Ah, forgot about that part. I add CUE 1/ ENTER to the end of my release macros to re-prompt list 1. The macro has to run in foreground mode to get this to work.
I also have a button on my X-keys set to trigger a CUE 1/ ENTER macro, which makes life easier when working with multiple lists.
I GOT IT! You can make a Macro "CUE 1/ ENTER" and make that macro's MODE = FOREGROUND. Then when you link it to execute from a cue in a different list, it will fire that cue, then instantly restore your main cue list.
You can also add the same command string to your "Fader Release" macro and it will re-select your main cuelist as long as the macro mode is set to FOREGROUND.
EDIT: ...and now that I refresh this forum webpage, I see my question has already been answered. Oh well. Couldn't hurt to have the solution in two places.
