Power ON multiconsole

Hi

I've managed to Power ON my Gio as a backup from my EOS but can not reverse the process.

I want my Gio (onstage ) to power ON my EOS in the booth. I've set my EOS as back up but I can't seem to get the GIO to be set up as Primary. Even when I choose Primary in start up it just shows it as "user 1" and doesn't list it as the primary.

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks

  • Hi Geoff,

Firstly your Gio - it sounds like the console is not seeing a network, hence why you don't see any info on what it is assigned as. Where does the network cable out the back of the Gio go? Directly to the Eos in the booth, or via a network switch on the way?

If it goes thru a switch if should be seeing a network available.

I'm afraid it is not possible to remotely power on an original Eos console. This is because it has a built in network switch. When the console is off, so is the built in switch - so there is no network communication to the motherboard for a wake on LAN signal.

This could also be the reason why your Gio doesn't see a network when the Eos is off, assuming it links directly to the back of the Eos.

    Does that make sense?

  • Yes explains it. Thought as much. Does it work with new release EOS? Time for an upgrade maybe !

    Thanks
