Magic Sheet merge

Two questions:

Is there any way to copy things from one magic sheet and paste them into another?

When I merge one show file magic sheet into an open show only the one I merged shows up.  It replaces the magic sheet for the open show.  I thought whatever I merge would show up in the Magic Sheet Browser.  How can I have several magic sheets available from different show files?  This also goes with the first question as being able to copy from one and paste into another.

  • I have been able with a keyboard to copy and paste selected items in to a new Magic Sheet in the same show file.  The only thing I found was sometimes, on the paste, the number the item is referencing changes, and will need to be edited.

  • So I assume you use Ctl C to copy from one sheet then Ctl V to paste to another but can't do that from one show file sheet to another because the memory is lost when merging.

  • You can absolutely merge a single magic sheet from any file into another one. My default merge will overwrite existing items with the same number however. All you need to do is do an Advanced Merge and select a different target number, so say merge Magic Sheet 1 into Magic Sheet 101 and you won't overwrite your existing Magic Sheet 1.

  • Yes, Yes, Yes.  Ty, Ty, Ty.  Took a bit to figure out how to do the Advanced because I have never done it.  I thought I would have to create a fake sheet that would be used for the import but as you know that's not true.  For those who haven't done it just type whatever MS number you want in the Target box and it will create what you are merging as a new MS under that number.  Just make sure you don't use a number that already exists or you will replace the one you wanted with the merged one.

I have yet though to figure out how to create or start a new blank MS when one is already open.  I could not find anything in the manual about it other than one mention of open Browser, Magic Sheet New.  When I double clicked on new it opened another magic sheet that I already had opened and just called it the next number.  Every time I double clicked new it did the same.  Never figured that out.
