Moving displays between monitors

Using an ETC Ion, operating Version 2.0: We're having difficulty moving the playback status to the second monitor. We've tried  selecting "playback status", and hitting [tab] [page left/right] as per the manual's suggestion. We have also attempted this with the usb keyboard, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

  • I find that when tabs refuse to move/close/reorder, doing a deep clear of the system seems to solve it right quick.

Make sure you have saved your file.

Exit to the shell and choose Settings / Maintenance / Deep Clear.

Hopefully that will solve it for you.

  • Howdy,

A few thoughts are below. Some of them cover the basic things just for the sake of having a more complete answer:

    • Make sure that you are pressing and holding the [Tab] button and tapping the arrow keys
    • There are things that can prevent tabs from being on the monitor. They include:
      • Having virtual controls filling all available space on the monitor
        • To close them, go to the Browser (Displays) -> Virtual Controls -> Close Module
      • Having an expanded Live table take the available space
        • This one can be tricky, as you can expand it, but not see anything on the monitor
        • Go to your live tab, and press and hold [Expand], then tap the up arrow and right arrow (this undoes each direction you could expand the screen)
    • Make sure the monitor is displaying information. Do you see the time at the top of the monitor? If not, you may need to go to the shell and configure your monitors. See this wiki article for more details: Ion Monitor Arrangement after v1.9.5
    • A deep clear will also clear out all of the display configuration (i.e., what tabs are where, what virtual controls are open, etc...)

Let us know how this goes for you.
