Ion and Diversatronics Strobe cap.

Im sure there is an easy solution here....

we have an ion and im trying to patch a strobe cap.  I found the profile for the ESM s4 under manufacturer.  I patched it at address 513 so its on the second universe, the profile takes two addresses. Channel 301.

When I am in the live screen, I can put a value into the intensity channel, but the shutter strobe is greyed out and I cant put a value in it.

It seems like a patching problem, but Im not sure where to go from here.  Any ideas?

  • Hello, Shaun:

Strobe is viewed by the console as a "form" type parameter.  It has been placed it on an encoder for easy control.  If you press [Form] (top right area of the console) then you should see "Shutter Strobe" as a label on one of your encoders.  Moving this encoder will change the value of the strobe parameter.

There are other ways to do this as well, such as with the ML controls function, but the encoders are often the quickest and simplest way to control non-intensity parameters.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks Sasha!

That worked!  I thought I had gone through all of the different options but I must have skipped by form to quickly.
