gio setup with capture polar - tea breaktutorials

Hi

I'm trying to setup my Gio with my laptop so that I can play with the tea break tutorials.

I have a cable in port 1 in the desk and in my laptop.

IP: desk: 10.101.100.1 (255.255.0.0)

laptop: 10.101.100.102 (255.255.0.0)

The status of port 1 says Online and have sACN + Net2 - EDMX checked

When I ping I get no response?

Any clever ideas??

Aslo I'm not quite sure what to do with capture Polar. I have found a file called "London training Room 2 dec 2011 in the folder with al the tea break show files. And I have also downloaded the demo of capture polar. Do I need to use the training room program or the capture polar demo?

  • I am going to assume it's a PC running WIndows 7 or 8 with an adequate video graphics processor.

Not responding to ping implies either a connection issue or a routing problem. What direction are you pinging (Gio to PC or PC to Gio). No response in either direction would imply a physical connection issue. Not responding in one direction might be a firewall or routing problem. Do the indicator LEDs at the ethernet port of the Gio and laptop offer any clues? If they are illuminated then routing might be messed up. Try disabling your wireless NIC to force the laptop to use the ethernet port.

The "training room" executable is a standalone application. You should be able to run it and see a dark stage. When it is first launched it may prompt for a firewall change to allow it to communicate. Allow it through the firewall. If it doesn't prompt then you may need to manually add a rule.

There is no need to install Capture Polar, except maybe if you need to tweak network settings to force CP to listen on the ethernet port rather than your wireless port.

  • Turning of the firewall did the trick.

    Thanks
