Source 4 LED Lustre+

I'm using a couple of Source 4 LED lustre+ units on my ION. I've got the units set to "Stage" and I'm running the fixtures on the desk in HSI+7 mode. I'm getting some very nice results using the gel selections from the colour picker, however, I am unable to create a strong deep blue. Is this just the natural trade off for the wide range of pastel colours available in this mode or have I got something wrong in the set up.

  • Hi.  You really do need to patch the units using the same mode the devices are set to - or change the device mode to match how you have them patched.   Having said that, Lustre+ is geared toward pastels.

    Hope that helps.

  • If you are using the Stage mode in QuickSetups, then you can choose "QS Stage" in patch.  This won't neccessarily change the way the color picker behaves for you.  I have found that sometimes I can mix a better and brighter color on my own- especially in the saturated colors.  To get a deep blue, bring up the Indigo and Blue paramaters to full.  Then maybe add some Cyan and a small amount of Red.

The fixture's Stage mode allows you to change the individual LED colors proportionally on the console, which is great for those moments when you want to mix it by hand.

I will say- the Lustr+ gets great whites and pastels, but it has the capabilities to mix to really saturated colors just as good as any LED fixture out there.  It is an exceptionally flexible fixture!
