RVIs and ION backup not following the active cue list display from main

Hello,

Please explain why my RVIs and ION back up does not follow the cue list display of the main when we switch to a different cue list. I know about user numbers, and mirror mode. I don't want to change those devices every time we have a show that wants to work this way.

It seems like the displays are link to the master playback faders. But really if I tell the main to work in another list it would be helpful for the other devices to swap to that list.

I understand this may not work if you have multiple programmers but can't the backup then switch on its own and leave the RVIs following the main?

Please let me know, our work around has be to link the list on the main playback, but that will not always work.

  • Thanks for the reply Anne. I understand the need for this. We are running multiple lists. I have an RVI set up for the SM to see the list we are in. It is undesirable  to have it set as the same user because of the display switching the main will affect the RVI. Mirror mode would have the same affect.

Question if I set the RVI as the same user, and then lock the display on the PSD, would that give me what I'm looking for? I'm thinking it would lock on the list we are in, but not switch when the main switches.

We have linked then two lists we and that is working for us, but I do see a time that may not work. Like having to run lists out of order. I guess what I'm looking for is a way to set clients up so that they follow the main's PSD but remain a separate user. Or perhaps a way the main could change a clients screens.

    Thanks for your time.

  • You can lock the PSD on any of the devices to avoid having it changed based on playback activity from the same or any other device --- the user doesn't matter.  While operating modes are shared across all devices that are the same user, display formats are device specific.  We have on the list a way to send a snapshot to reconfigure displays from one device to another.... no ETA on when we will get to that.

    Hope that helps!!

    :-)
