EOS offline editor

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to have a go on the EOS offline editor, but I can't find it anywhere.

Could someone please point me in the right direction.

Florian, you will need to go to the ETC America's site. We've not launched the product yet in Europe, so the information is only there at the moment. Select products/control/Eos. There is a like to downloads. You can access the offline software there. We should be posting information to the European site within the next couple of months.

I can confirm that Eos Offline runs very well under Parallels. I was also able to get it to recognise the dongle and run as a Client in Paralells, after massaging the network settings a bit (Intel MacBook). I suspect that it would work with Boot Camp and other virtualisation solutions as well.

Unfortunately, I've still got a PowerMac G5, so running Parallels, Boot Camp, or any other virtualization is out of the question, and I've never had good experiences with the stability of VirtualPC elsewhere, so I'm a bit hesitant about running out for a copy of that + a copy of windows just for this...

I can't remember exactly how I did it, but you have to get Windows to have a fixed IP of 10.101.x.y / 255.255.0.0 . I think I set the network for Bridged networking, otherwise other devices on the network don't see Windows.
If you can ping the Eos (default 10.101.90.101) from Windows, you should be fine.

What is important is that you do not install the HASP dongle driver on OSX, otherwise OSX will "steal" control of it from Windows. I think I did have to manually grab control of the dongle from within Parallels.
Next time I have a Mac and an Eos in the same building, I'll set it up again and do some basic instructions.

Does anyone know if it is possible to run the client over WiFi?
It would be very convenient to interact with the system from anywhere using my laptop.

It isn't currently possible to run a client (reliably) wireless. That will be available in a release at the end of Q1 '08. Just curious... are you running XP or Vista?

Also, in answer to someone else's question about Mac compatibility, running offline Mac native is also slated for Q1 '08.

Actually, I'm on a MacBook Pro running Windows XP via Parallels.
So, word of a native Mac offline is wonderful.
