I would like your input

It may be that there is a simple way to make these changes to the console that I am not aware of.  If so, I would greatly appreciate your expertise.  If not, your thoughts on a few suggested changes would be welcomed.

1.)     When going from Live to Blind, the first cue is always displayed. It would it would be helpful if it returned to the last screen I was in so I can pick up working where I left off.

2.)     After parking a channel in the Live screen, the captured channel is not released without having to press Sneak Enter. It would be helpful if it released from the Live screen after completing the Park function so that it could not be recorded or updated to another sub or cue.

Once released, only a p is displayed. It would be helpful to see the value of the parked channel displayed in the Live screen without have to press additional keys like Park Park.

If the cue or sub that the parked channel is recorded in is brought into play, the live screen will display the recorded value and not the parked value. It would be helpful viewing only actual values in the Live screen.

3.)     When modifying an existing channel(s) and adding new channels to a cue or sub in Live, I enter the Update command twice. The first time updates the existing channel(s), the second time adds the new channel(s). Is there a way to add an additional command of Cue # or Sub # Update All which would update modified and new channels simultaneously or is Record Only the only way to accomplish this.

4.)    It is possible to update multiple cues simultaneously with Update Cue # thru # Enter. Using the Update function with sub masters only updates the first sub listed. It would be helpful if they worked the same.

5.)     In Live, Go to Cue Out will not only globally change non intensity parameters of all cue lists but of sub masters as well.  It would be helpful to have sub masters exempted from this.

Any thoughts on the above would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

  • Hi Timothy,

On #4: Update is designed to send changes back to the active object in question. Only one submaster is the winner for a channel's parameter at any point. Thus, only one submaster can get the change for a particular channel.

    Consider this example:

    • Have only channel 1 in sub 1, only channel 2 in sub 2, etc...
    • Type Sub 1 thru 10 at 50
    • Type Channel 1 thru 10 at 20
    • Press Update Sub 1 thru 10

What happens is that each sub that is actively controlling a channel in live receives the updated value. Looking in the update screen, you'll see subs 1 thru 10 all ready to receive their changes.

Perhaps this behavior could be different. That's just what's going on at the moment. I'll step aside in favor of Anne Valentino's/other peoples' opinions.

On #5: We will be making changes to how this works soon. We are looking at version 2.2 for this to be addressed.
