I would like your input

It may be that there is a simple way to make these changes to the console that I am not aware of.  If so, I would greatly appreciate your expertise.  If not, your thoughts on a few suggested changes would be welcomed.

1.)     When going from Live to Blind, the first cue is always displayed. It would it would be helpful if it returned to the last screen I was in so I can pick up working where I left off.

2.)     After parking a channel in the Live screen, the captured channel is not released without having to press Sneak Enter. It would be helpful if it released from the Live screen after completing the Park function so that it could not be recorded or updated to another sub or cue.

Once released, only a p is displayed. It would be helpful to see the value of the parked channel displayed in the Live screen without have to press additional keys like Park Park.

If the cue or sub that the parked channel is recorded in is brought into play, the live screen will display the recorded value and not the parked value. It would be helpful viewing only actual values in the Live screen.

3.)     When modifying an existing channel(s) and adding new channels to a cue or sub in Live, I enter the Update command twice. The first time updates the existing channel(s), the second time adds the new channel(s). Is there a way to add an additional command of Cue # or Sub # Update All which would update modified and new channels simultaneously or is Record Only the only way to accomplish this.

4.)    It is possible to update multiple cues simultaneously with Update Cue # thru # Enter. Using the Update function with sub masters only updates the first sub listed. It would be helpful if they worked the same.

5.)     In Live, Go to Cue Out will not only globally change non intensity parameters of all cue lists but of sub masters as well.  It would be helpful to have sub masters exempted from this.

Any thoughts on the above would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

  • Hi.  Some comments:

1.)     When going from Live to Blind, the first cue is always displayed. It would it would be helpful if it returned to the last screen I was in so I can pick up working where I left off.

Actually, entering blind reflects the currently selected cue in live.  To maintain the last cue you had selected in blind, there is a setup option under desk settings called Preserve Blind Cue.  If you enable this, blind will return to where you left it.

2.)     After parking a channel in the Live screen, the captured channel is not released without having to press Sneak Enter. It would be helpful if it released from the Live screen after completing the Park function so that it could not be recorded or updated to another sub or cue.

We do not make assumptions that just because you park something you want the live value to change.    You can park in one command line from live, which does not provide a live level.  channel x at y park enter

Once released, only a p is displayed. It would be helpful to see the value of the parked channel displayed in the Live screen without have to press additional keys like Park Park.

yes, this has been discussed.  To do that, we need to move the park indicator from the channel level to the parameter level.  Many users felt this was more visual noise than they wanted to deal with.  It is still an active topic however.

If the cue or sub that the parked channel is recorded in is brought into play, the live screen will display the recorded value and not the parked value. It would be helpful viewing only actual values in the Live screen.

You can store any value you want for channels that are parked.   If we made the live display reflect the parked values rather than your defined values, you would no longer be able to do that.

New (or unowned) channels/parameters are added to the selected list cue on an update, unless otherwise specified.   All other channels return to the cue list providing their playback value (unless you tell the desk differently via a selective update …. channel x update y.) You should not have to update twice.  Can you provide more information?

4.)    It is possible to update multiple cues simultaneously with Update Cue # thru # Enter. Using the Update function with sub masters only updates the first sub listed. It would be helpful if they worked the same.

Updates on submasters always store content back to the sub providing the level (or the current owner, as we refer to it) unless otherwise instructed.  Update Sub Enter restores all manual overrides to their owner.  Update sub 1 thru 10 only restores overrides back to those submasters.  Since there is no concept of a "selected sub" as there is with a cue list, new content (unowned channels/parameters) must be specified to update to a sub master.  1 update sub 4 enter.    It is worth noting if you set three submasters to the same HTP level, the owner is considered to by the FIRST sub master to set the level.  We have an SCR that in such cases, ownership should be transferred in an LTP fashion).

5.)     In Live, Go to Cue Out will not only globally change non intensity parameters of all cue lists but of sub masters as well.  It would be helpful to have sub masters exempted from this.

Non-intensity parameters follow LTP rules.  At the moment, that includes LTP parameters owned by submasters - so they are homed on a go to cue out.  We will be making an exception for Go to Cue Out/Zero LTP parameters owned by submasters in 2.2.

    Hope that helps!
