Eos Monitor Problems

We tour our Eos in a unit with 3 monitors which has been working fine, we have now moved the Eos to the production desk where we only have 2 monitors and I am having trouble getting Eos to see them. Both the monitors and the cables are fine but Eos will only identify Mon 1, in the set up the other 2 appear as disabled. I have quite erratically mamanged to get 2 to work but they are not stable and 1 keeps dropping out but not always the same one. I have experienced similar problems before changing between 2/3 monitors but we have always got it sorted. Anybody have any ideas or suggestions. As far as I can tell at this late hour it is not a connection problem inside the desk.

  • Hi Malcom,

I would suggest disconnecting all your external monitors, and then rebooting.  Allow the console to fully boot up into Eos leaving all the external monitors still disconnected.  Now exit to the welcome screen and re-connect all your external monitors.  Once all the monitors are connected and powered on, try using the "Monitor Arrangement..." tool and be sure to click "Apply" even if everything looks correct.

On a side note - in Eos 1.4, there is an "Advanced" monitor setup dialog, where you can tweak all monitor settings manually.

  • Thanks for the info Chris, it turned out that the local tech plugging up the system, which is normally something we don't allow to happen, had damaged the ends on 2 DVI cables and the system is now running as we would expect.  Thanks again to ETC support online and in the London office.
