Gio Client Problems

Hi everyone,

I am having some trouble getting my new macbook working as a client with our Gio. We have a wireless router connected for us to run the iRFR and aRFR apps which work fine and I can also connect to the wireless with my macbook using IP addresses etc recommended from ETC for the client.

When I open the client on my computer (with the dongle connected) it will connect to the desk (which is the master) but will not sync. The desk displays "uploading show file" and the computer shows that it is downloading it but once the sync has completed (after a few failed sync attempts), the computer has none of the cues etc and is not sync'd and I cannot control anything from my computer - it wont even let me type into the command line (on the computer).

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks, Tom.

  • Unless you need to be wireless with the client I would suggest running network cable to the mac.  Depending on your wireless router you may not be able to get the client to connect and sync with the console.  I know some people have been able to get a wireless client working and maybe they can chime in with their router and settings but wireless is finicky and usually can not handle the bandwidth necessary to maintain a client connection.
