Gio Client Problems

Hi everyone,

I am having some trouble getting my new macbook working as a client with our Gio. We have a wireless router connected for us to run the iRFR and aRFR apps which work fine and I can also connect to the wireless with my macbook using IP addresses etc recommended from ETC for the client.

When I open the client on my computer (with the dongle connected) it will connect to the desk (which is the master) but will not sync. The desk displays "uploading show file" and the computer shows that it is downloading it but once the sync has completed (after a few failed sync attempts), the computer has none of the cues etc and is not sync'd and I cannot control anything from my computer - it wont even let me type into the command line (on the computer).

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks, Tom.

  • I've had some problems connecting my computer to an Eos network over wifi, and success seems to very greatly depending on the brand/model of access point you're using.  While I haven't seen the exact version if the issue that you're describing, I'd suggest testing it over a wired connection first.  If the wired connection works, try swapping out the wifi access point for a different model.

  • I can't seem to get the console to communicate via the ethernet connection, doesn't even seem to see it when you first open the client and troubleshoot etc?

  • Tom,

Make sure your IP addresses are properly set.  See the suggested ranges here:

If you're using a Windows computer, make sure the Eos software is allowed to pass through the Windows Firewall.

And, make sure you have an ethernet cable connected to the Gio when it starts up.  If the Gio starts up without a cable connected, the operating system will disable the port.

If none of that works, give Tech Support a call.  They'll have you sorted in no time I'm sure.

    Take care,
