EvenLED & Pixel Maps

Hello,

I'm venturing into the world of pixel mapping as we have 36 EvenLED panels lighting the cyc on our next show.

I have the panels patched as EvenLED fixtures, however the show will require me to have more individual control of the LEDs, to draw shapes of the upstage doors and windows that the cyc backs.

Is the best way to go about this to patch the panels as individual RGB LED's, and create a magic sheet for easy selection of the relevant channels, or am I missing a trick here? Is there an easy way of quickly creating low resolution images to import into the pixel map editor?

All suggestions greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

David

  • Hi David,

The Easiest way to achieve this would be to create a image then import this a bit of media and replay it as part of the pixel map. In this case a static picture would be fine put on its own layer then run everything else on other layers allowing you balance things.

You can create a image which is on a 1:1 scale for your pixel size or make it bigger then scale it down in EOS. I would make it twice or four times bigger then its easy to work out how much you need to scale it by when lining the image up.
