Off line editing for the ION using Polar Capture

First thing is I'm a bit lost and would love some help. I have the ION off-line editor. Totally makes sense but I have one stupid question-how do I record a cue? Just can't seem to find a way to do this or the record button since I'm using a laptop. Ok secondly I would like to use Polar Capture to pre-vis a show coming up. How do I do this? How can I get the off-line editor to talk to Polar Capture. I have the set imported into Polar Capture from 3ds-max. I haven't put the lights in yet but that seems pretty straight forward. I want to cue the show off-line and see everything happening in Polar Capture. I'm guessing I need two computers for this? How do I get them to talk? As much detail will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Recording a cue is done pressing the "R" key (Record).

[r]27[Enter] will record whatever is active into cue 27 in the current cue list.

There is a wiki article on integrating with Capture Polar and other visualizers. I have both the offline client and Capture Polar running on the same PC using the Microsoft Loopback Adapter.

A document for keyboard shortcuts should be in the EOS Family Documents folder which can be accessed via the shortcut that gets created on the desktop.
