Preheat Time

Here's a thought, Would it be grand to specify the time to preheat a cue, or can you do this already?

Currently preheat takes the up time from the cue previous.

If you have a fade thats 3:00 minuetes long it will take that long for the preheat channels to get to there preheat level.

If you then subsequently action the next cue before the completion of the previous cue you dont get all the benefits of the preheat (especially if it is proportionately bringing channels to 04% over 3:00).

I know I could do some work and manually do the preheating in a part of my 3:00 cue.

I wonder what other think of this? Would it be nice to specify a part in the previous cue to do the preheating?

or a default preheat time in setup?

Currently and most likely correctly you can use a syntax : CUE 7 Preheat TME 7 ENTER

The desk rightly sees this as Preheat cue 7 AND give it a time of 7 Thanks.

Some might miss interpret this as Please preheat cue 7 in a time of 7 seconds - If you are under the impression that this syntax is going to preheat in 7 second and have not paid attention as it has terminated (correctly) your 3:00 fadeis now 7 seconds! = Slightly miffed Lighting designers who's beautiful fade has happened a little sooner than anticipated!

Have I got something wrong or is this something that might go on the list??

Many Thanks
