Copying colour values between fixtures on Ion

What is the quickest way to transfer the colour values of one fixture to another fixture of the same type on an Ion? As I understand it palettes only work if the fixtures were part of the palette group created, so how do I take the colour created in fixture A and quickly copy it to fixtures BCD and so on.

Channel X {Color} [Copy to] Channel <arbitrary selection> [Enter]

{Color} can be keyed by either clicking on the CIA, the tiles above a parameter in the ML control, or holding Shift+Color Encoder selection button.

You can also convert your palettes to "By Type" and make them available to all fixtures of the same type.
