Help needed on connecting ION / CEM+ / D20´s

Greetings,

First of all, I would like to start by saying I work for a Systems Integrator and that (for several reasons) an ION console we purchase some time ago it's being installed this week. We purchase not only the console but the CEM+ module and D20´s dimmers also.

Now that we are trying to check if we connected everything properly, we haven´t found a way to make sure the ION console is actually connected and communicating with the dimmer modules.

Attached you will find a quite simple diagram of what we have installed.

If anybody could please give some pointers or tips would be great.

Thanks in advance

  • Sorry, I don't know how to upload multiple attachements...

Here's the other one. Please see that in "Control Source" column, every dimmer module advises as "DMXA" so they should be OK, am I right?

Assuming the patch on the Sensor is the same as the Dimmer # (check the patch page of Sensor Connect)

Then set the ION to 1to1 patch, set channel 145 to full, you should see that the dimmer on Lug 1 (Dimmer 145) is at 100%

Additionally, if connected via ethernet the pressing [about] then {About System} you should see all the NET3 devices on the network (inc. your 4 sensor racks).

You should be careful running both NET3 and DMX to the same rack. The rack can be configured to react to both sources. This can cause "funky" fades.

I would recommend using only NET3 directly from the ION and leaving the DMX input for other non NET3/ACN consoles.
