Live button

Heres a thought, my boss and I were talking today and he said if you hit the live button and there was a command (on the command line) it would clear the command line.  He thought that it would do that already, seeing as how most consoles do that already.  So we tried it and it didn't work.  I think this would be a good feature to have, maybe it can be one the user could turn on and off?  Just a thought.  Any thoughts on this?

  • If you hit Undo with a non terminated command line, the console will clear all information on the command line.

  • Also, Ryan, Eos supports multiple instances of the Live display.  I frequently see programmers put a table view, flexichannel set to "selected channels" just above the CIA, while they leave their Tab1 - Live/Blind on an outboard monitor in a different view.  This gives them a detailed view of the channels they are working with, and perhaps a summary view of the rest of the rig.

Anyway.... pressing the [Live] key a fast way to advance from one live tab to the next.... and it would probably not to a good thing if pressing live just to bring focus to another tab cleared your command line.

     Does that make sense?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Anne, just to hijack this quickly - during shows I do exactly what you said above with selected-channel flexi-channel Live view above the CIA to be able to pick up a group of channels and see in detail what they are doing. However I find that often when I select [Group] [90], which are my VL1000s, that I only see Intensity in the flexichannel view. If I then select just one of the channels in the group I see FCB parameters as well. Then if I select [Group] [90] again FCB parameters are shown for the whole group.

  • Really... interesting.  Is this on the show file that we already have?  If so, we will take a look at it.  (I just tried to duplicate this but couldn't).  If it isn't the same show file, please forward it on and we will take a look.  Percentage-wise, how often are you seeing this??

    Thanks!

  • Hi Anne, I found the sequence to make this 100% repeatable. This is with current show file (I'll send you through final version tomorrow).

    1) Select 4 or more generic dimmer channels (e.g 1 Thru 4) - only Intensity is displayed.

    2) Select Group 90 (contains 4 VL1000s) - only Intensity is displayed

    3) Select 3 or fewer generic dimmer channels - only Intensity is displayed

    4) Select Group 90 - all FCB attributes are displayed.

This is with Live Table Packed, Selected-Channel Flexichannel display above the CIA.

The key thing seems to be the number of generic channels in the previous selection. 3 or fewer is fine, more than that causes the next VL1000 selection to only show Intensity. It may be relevant that only 3 channels are visible in the Live Table Packed view when it is above the CIA?

More tomorrow on everything else.... :)

    Cheers,

    David
