Capture Polar/ Ion

capture can receive sACN which your offline editor will send if you have in Shell > Setup > Network checked the option "Output to Visualizer from Offline"

Yea I did all these things, but was confused on what to do in Capture? My screen didn't look exactly the same as captures option do under connectivity. Also I enables everything on the Ion but is still won't let me switch the Interface from off-line? Thanks

Is it because it's the student version?

You leave the ion in offline mode. It will output sACN to visualizers.

Can't comment on capture though. Could it be a firewall issue?

It could also be a low-end video card. Capture will not look like it's doing anything if it can't render.

I can bring the lights up in capture itself and it looks great so thats not the issue. Thanks

On the capture PC, can you install sACNview and see if you receive something there?

I'm having exactly the same issue. Ion OLE on a Mac running Capture Polar on the same machine. I seem to have tried every possible combination of setting, but so far nothing. Interestingly, if I boot up the Smartfade ML OLE it connects automatically, the visualiser recognises the external universe and I can control Capture no problem.

I understand that until recently any kind of DMX output wasn't available for the Mac version of the OLE, but in the latest revision, all of the options appear to be there. Can anyone confirm that it does actually output DMX?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was told that only the PC, not the Mac, OLE outputs data for Capture Polar.  Was able to run OLE with Parallels on my Mac and make Capture Polar work but couldn't use the Mac OLE.
