Ion Level wheel dead

Hi all,

I recently had to open up our Ion console to re-seat the memory, which resolved a not-starting/freezing problem we were having. Around the same time I upgraded the console to 2.0.x.x.x. At some point immediately or shortly thereafter, the level wheel stopped functioning. I have logged into the diagnostic tools, and every other button on the face panel tests fine, but the wheel does not seem to be communicating. We have disassembled and checked the connections, and as far as we can tell, the wheel is solidly connected to the circuit board.

Any ideas? Is it just a dead level wheel? We use the level wheel a lot, so it's a pain not having it.

I would definitely suggest a call to your local ETC support!

Calling our local ETC depot is on the list of possibilities, but we can't be without the board for any length of time, and house calls are spendy. I'm hoping there's a "Rub your head, pat your belly, twirl the leftmost and right-middle encoder in opposite directions in blind mode. That resets the level wheel." sort of solution. :)

If any connectors were disconnected and reconnected, make sure they didn't get off by one pin. The voice of experience speaking.

If you call Tech Support ( US: 800-688-4116) and need to have your board repaired there is a good chance we can send you one to use in the mean time- so you stay up and running! And it's possible that no one will need to come to site at all.
