ION board not talking to dimmers after using Capture simulation

We have an ion board. We had set up Capture for a new operator to play on the ion with the training manuals. Once he was finished we turned off the board and left it for the weekend. Today the board does not want to speak to the dimmers. Our head electrician reset the networking connections that had been changed for using Capture. But the board is still not talking to the dimmers.
We did the most recent software update last week as well.
Any ideas what we need to do? We are at a loss.

  • Hello, Janelle:

When you had it set up for output to Capture, were you running in Primary?

You can check the text above your command line and if this is the only console in the system it should say "User 1/Primary/Master."

If it says something other than "Primary" then you could be working in a mode that will not output.  In that case exit to the shell and then choose {Primary}.

If this is not the issue, then it may be worthwhile to check the IP settings at your dimmer rack and and in line nodes.  Have they taken the address from the console as it was changed for Capture?  If so, we may need to make sure that there is a DHCP server in the right IP range online, and then reset everything.

If any of this is confusing, or if it just plain isn't the issue you are having, feel free to give ETC Tech Support a call.  We are always happy to help you troubleshoot over the phone.

    Thank you,
