EOS Family Client v2.1.2 software and Lightwright 5 Patch Import

I have followed the Wiki for importing a Lightwright 5 patch into a Gio console with EOS Family Client v2.1.2 software and am finding that the purpose is repeated in Text 1-4. I tried looking at the Lightwright export file in Excel and found the which every column of information was listed first end up in Text 1-4.

Does anyone have answer to this problem?

  • Don't do a Patch export in LW.  Instead do a Data export.

    The first time you do this LW will bring up a map.  Check the info that is important, like Purpose, Color, Channel, Dimmer, Device Type (important), Note that in the Eos OS patch database Text 3 info will always be Color, while Text 4 will always be Purpose.

    You can cheat in LW,, creating a new version of the same file, changing the map of what data goes to Text 1 & 2, but standard map is Circ.#  and Circ.Name

    Channel and Dimmer always go to the same locations in Eos.

    The ETC WiKi is here: http://community.etcconnect.com/wikis/products/knowledgebase-importing-lightwright-data-into-eos.aspx

    After you do the first LW export, LW will ask you if you want to automate the process.  I save mine as "LW Date to Ion".

  • Hi Steve;

    I tried following the ETC Wiki instructions and I had Circuit Name in Text 1 and Circuit # in Text 2 with Purpose repeated in Text 3+4 along with notes columns.

    Thanks John

  • Circuit # in Txt 1 with Circ. Name in Txt 2 is default, as is Purpose in Txt 3 with color in Txt 4.  As per the Wiki instructions.

    Eos does not have a mapping capability, it only deals with patch data as defined from the import.  It "can" deal with incoming information in Text 1 & 2 "if" it has info.

    I choose to not send anything other then Purpose, Ch., Dim, & Color (and device type) as defined by LW.  Eos, not then having data for Txt 1 & 2  then dumps the purpose into Txt 1 & 2  as well as 4, I just ignore 1&2 data

    I use Purpose and color data as fill for a magic sheet.  If you want other data from LW you need to create a new "dummy" LW file where you cut/paste the "other" data you want into the Circ. # and Circ. name columns.  Then export that.  It'll fill in the Txt 1 & 2 data columns.
