Macro in Learn mode missing number key presses

Hi all, wondering if anyone has seen this before.  When I store a macro using Learn mode, the console misses about 1/3 of all number key presses - they happen on stage, but just don't get recorded.  This has meant going back into the editor to add the missing numbers to the macro so it works properly.

For example, "store beam palette 998" records as "store beam palette 99", but the console actually stored BP 998 while I was recording the macro.

Any thoughts?

We're running 2.1.2, (2) EOS, (1) RPU, (3) RVI.  I'm on a client EOS.

  • I've never seen anything like that running a system that is EOS + Backup and only 1 hand on the desk.

I'm a little skeptical about the number of input devices in your system.   Is it a consistent reproducer?

Have you tried pulling one of your desks out of that mess and building a macro or 2 in a cleaner environment?

I don't know enough about user numbers and where/when certain kinds of keystrokes get stored and shipped between desks to say that is really the problem -  it's just hunch.

  • It's pretty consistent - if I'm typing a 3 digit number, I'll always lose a digit, less often if it's a 2 or 1 digit number.  All the RVIs and the RPU (main) are User 1, the backup EOS is User 2, my programming desk is User 3.  The only one really being used as an input device is my EOS, though the production elec has an ION (user 4) he occasionally uses to bring up channels and test things.

I haven't really chased the problem because I'm not dropping keystrokes in any other way, so I don't know if this changes as devices are removed.  I also don't drop any keystrokes while recording other than the numerics - it's so weirdly specific.

Thanks for your thoughts.  I'll try recording a macro on one of the other devices tomorrow and see where that goes.
