Setting up a backup console

Hey everyone, first time setting up a backup here and I'm having some troubles. I have both consoles going through a router (both read that they are on-line), disabled DHCP on the backup, and changed the IP address by 1 when I click backup it searches for the master console to no avail. I click troubleshoot and it sees the master but it has a Red slash through it. thoughts?

You could have some network settings off on the console. Is the router performing any routing functions or is it just for a wireless access point? DHCP turned on? If DHCP is turned on in the router, turn it off. Make sure that the router is assigned to the same IP and Subnet range as the consoles. Also make sure that both consoles have the same software version.

ETC Defaults

Primary

IP: 10.101.100.101

Subnet: 255.255.0.0

Gateway: Same as IP address

Backup

IP: 10.101.100.102

Subnet: 255.255.0.0

Gateway: Same as IP address

Thanks HK, I finally got her going. Though as of now I am unsure is it was my startup order or a bad ethernet cable.

Start up order shouldn't matter. I frequently turn my backup unit on first, and it will just sit there and wait for the master to become available.
