Nomad/EOS 2.2 Offline

Hi All,

Just downloaded the new offline editor, and currently very confused with all the stuff that seems to be crammed onto one screen- can anyone advise on how I can enable dual screen support please?

Thanks,

Ian

  • In the shell, under settings, you can set for single or dual monitor mode.  As to "all of the stuff", have you looked at the supplement?  This is always recommended before installing new software.

One of the reasons we have not posted that this build is available yet is because we've not yet had the time to post the video that explains what it all means.

    Thanks,

  • Thanks Anne!

I did have a look in the shell but obviously missed that setting- got it now! (It's been a very long day, but word got to me that the new release was out, so I had to have a peek!) Now that I've got my two screens back, it's a lot less crowded!

To be honest, I had a look at the downloads page for some sort of readme for the OLE, but didn't clock the Operations Manual supplement document! (For anyone else looking, it's here). That'll teach me for jumping straight into a new release after 12 hours at work!

  • :-).  It's tempting I know.  I do it all the time with my Mac or iPhone.  They ask me if I want to know what's changed and I'll say no... I'll figure it out as I go.  That works great with consumer products.  A bit more dangerous with professional grade.  Glad you got it sorted.  We will surely post the 2.2 video tomorrow.

    Thanks!

    Anne

  • Can I suggest in the interests of making the new system a little more familiar to current users that it be setup with 2 screens by default?

Whilst I completely get what you say about reading release notes, one of the great things I (and I'm sure many others) admire about the Eos system is being able to walk up to any console/editor in the range and just 'use it', without going "where has x,y,z feature gone" or "why on earth isn't my second screen there?!" Defaulting to 2 screens with a live tab and playback tab, for example, lets you get on with the job, and find the screens setting or play with the new tabs system later!

Please don't take this as a moan- more a constructive observation!
