strange timing issue

I've been using an Ion for several shows, but wouldn't consider myself an expert by any means. I've got an odd issue with cue timings. Usually when I give a cue up and down times the duration is displayed as the longest of the two timings. However I have recorded one cue where the duration is displayed as, and indeed the cue runs over the sum of the two times. Ie:- 10 secs up / 10secs down, the duration is displayed as 20 sec and the cue takes 20 sec to complete. I've tried changing the times but the behaviour is the same

Any ideas what I've done?

The cue duration is the length of time the entire cue takes to complete all it's actions. So, if you are using cue parts, that would be the longest part. Duration also takes into account delays. In your case it could also be the time taken to complete a Mark action. Are you using Marks at all?

By default the mark will happen in the fade time of the cue, so if a fixture's intensity is going out in that cue and it subsequently marks it will take 10 seconds to do so after it gets to zero therefore 10+10=20.

Make sense?
