Display feature requests

Display feature requests

1. The live and blind table and tombstone displays have a cue list at the bottom. There should be an option to get rid of this. Especially when using the Nomad software where space is so limited.

Implemented in 2.4, thanks

2. In the ML controls tab, it has palettes at the bottom. The problem is that when the tab is shrunk, the palettes hide the bottom 2 rows of buttons in the primary monitor or the bottom row in the secondary monitor. For example, when I have 3 rows of tabs, or when I have 2 rows of tabs and the CIA. Or in the Nomad software when I have 2 rows of ML controls. Ideally I would have one full screen containing all the ML controls, with the palettes at the bottom. That way it doesn’t waste space with the palettes duplicated on each tab.

Implemented in 2.4, thanks

3. Snapshots should include the expanded/collapsed settings and left/right positioning of the data in the frame, like where it is scrolled to.

4. An option to put the label in live/blind table view

5. When selecting the effects tab and focus is on the effects tab, page up/page down and the mouse should scroll that tab, not the fields in the CIA

  • re 1: on the list (at least i hope so, i mentioned it suring 2.2. beta)

re 2: that the palette buttons get cut off are on the list

re 4: do you mean labelling the tabs? should be on the list

re 5: the page up/down key were a deliberate decision. Next/Last moves through the list, page up/down through the table of step/absolute effects. don't think there has been a decision on the mouse wheel...

  • Thanks for your reply.

Sorry, I meant labeling the channels. I put labels/notes on the channels when I patch them and currently the only way to see the labels is to go into the patch window, and that takes me into blind, and I already complained about that in this post

    Next/Last moves through the list,

Ok, this helps me a lot

Whichever section of the monitor the mouse was most recently clicked on (or touched in the case of a touchscreen), that is the section that should be scrolled with the mouse wheel, and the mouse wheel should scroll the window, not just move the selection up or down. This should apply to all views, not just the effects display.

  • you can see the channel labels also in About for a selected channel

i think mouse wheel should scroll (but not move the selection) whichever section of the monitor that the mouse is hovering over...

  • The "About" tab shows text database labels as well, without going into blind. Not really sure how you'd fit that information cleanly into the tombstone cleanly. Agree with the mouse wheel controlling the active tab though, and really wish it would just be a focus follows mouse situation instead.

Good idea, I like this idea better than my original idea.

What I had in mind was when you press [format] to view table view, labels would be visible in a column next to the channel number. Then you could press [data]&[label] to remove it or add it back.

  • The best would be the capability to add each ML control to a Magic Sheet and have the ability to move and resize each control. If I could resize the pan/tilt x/y thing and make it bigger, it would help a lot to get finer grained control over pan and tilt.

    6. Also, the 2 virtual faders on the left side of the virtual keyboard work great. Can we please get the exact same thing for the intensity wheel on the right side underneath the expand button? Also the same for the grandmaster fader, unless the grandmaster fader can be mapped to the abovementioned virtual faders.  Edit: it can be

  • 1. Yes, please! This is true for me on the console, not just on Nomad - especially with the addition of frames.
