I'm using groups in conjunction with Magic sheets and find it easier to create a bunch of blank groups and then use group list display and Magic sheet together to fill in the channels for each group. In doing this i've not figure out an easy way to create a range of new groups. Typing in " Group 1-10 *enter*" only creates group 1. Any help?

Thanks!

Have you tried Group 1 Thru Thru 10?

Thank you! That worked. Why is the syntax like that? To make sure you really want to create all those groups?

there are two things to say:

- typing - does not mean Thru. - means minus. so you were typing Group 1 minus Group 10, which is exactly Group 1.

- the reason why you need two Thrus is a long and complex story. in this case it's basically about this: you have Groups 5, 6 and 8. in the group list display you type Group 5 Thru 8 Enter. the way it is now (and i like that): it only selects the groups in that range if they already exist. it does not create group 7. so you need a different way of telling the console that you really want to use every single group within that range. and this different way is Thru Thru. this does not only apply to the group list display but to other list displays as well, like Sub, Preset, Focus Pallette, Effect and last but not least: selecting channels in Live (with a Flexi mode) follows the same rules.
