Possible Ion bug? (Archive)

Hello!

I've noticed something when using a hazer (Jem Compact Hazer Pro), and I thought it might be best mention it incase it's a bug-

Console: Ion running Eos 2.2

The background:

Haze, fan and Heat parameters programmed onto a submaster for live control during a show.

What I've noticed:

When the sub is raised and lowered, the values on screen (once I'd worked out how to expand the beam parameters!) move in a linear fashion as you would expect.

However, if I have the hazer channel selected, and the encoders displaying the parameters, the value above the encoder snaps from o to full. As at first I didn't know how to expand the beam parameters in the live table, so thought the channels were actually snapping.

If I put my sub anywhere in between, and nudge the encoder, the value displayed above the encoder corrects itself. I set up a magic sheet to check the raw DMX values being output, and they also move in a linear fashion as you would hope.

So, bug or 'the way it works'?

Thanks!

Ian

Hi there,

This appears to be a bug - we've added it to the list to be addressed. As you've seen, this is a display issue and not affecting the actual fade of the parameters. It affects any parameter on the encoders, even intensity (which can be found under [Custom] on Ion).

Sorry for the issues!

Hans
