I have been using the Ion at the Local 728 office and sometimes use the keyboard shortcuts. (For example, pressing "b" and then typing the label is faster than the "label" button on the console.) The other day I was using an Ion from Illumination Dynamics and I updated the software to be the same as on the 728 Ion. But I noticed when I was working on it, that the keyboard shortcuts weren't working. Like pressing "t" didn't post "thru" to the command line, it posted "t" and then I had to type "hru".

How do I switch back and forth, and which is better in which circumstance? I feel like if it were a Nomad, it would be a lot easier to be able to type commands in plain English since there are no labeled console keys and most of the shortcuts aren't intuitive.

Hello, Josh:

Is it possible that Scroll Lock has been turned on at the keyboard? If so, turn it back off.

Thank you,

Sasha

you change this behaviour with the ScrollLock button on the external keyboard (not the one on the facepanel). if you don't want to use the hotkeys, then there's the facepanel overlay in nomad. it's the buttons icon in the top right corner right next to the clock.
