Hi all, I will get all the basic responses out of the way immediately.
The show we currently have running has been fine. We don't seem to have any issues throughout the entire show except for 2 cues in a sequence...and only a couple instances of it over the course of the last 5 weeks of the run. The sequence is basically a group of specials that snap on, then get called (snap off) a few seconds later. Then another special and so on. Most of the specials are Source 4's with I-Cues on them. The show has 6 I-Cues in it. The dimmers and all the I-Cues and scrollers are all provided data through the regular 5pin ports on the back of our Ion 1000 (v2.1.2). We also have a basic sACN network that is connected to our Paradigm system (for manual house lighting controls) as well as an ETC Net3 4port gateway that only has the show's moving lights connected to it.
The dimmers are Stand CD80 Supervisor SV. 2 racks, 192 dimmers...plus 2 CD80 packs @ 12x2.4k.
Totals
Universe 1 - 216 dimmers. 3 scrollers. 4 I-Cues, 2 PSUs (console's 5pin)
Universe 2 - 2 I-Cues, 2 Rosco DMX irises (console's 5pin)
Universe 3 - 6 x Mac 250 Washes (on gateway universe 3)
Universe 4 - 4 x Mac 550 Profiles, 1 scroller PSU, 3 scrollers (on gateway universe 4)
Universe 5 - 4 x Mac 700 Washes (on gateway universe 5)
Once during previews a few weeks ago, and again today, this 1 I-Cue special would not snap out even though the console has 0 counts and there are no discrete times on the channel in question.
Has anyone heard of a problem like this? I have tried swapping dimmer cards in the rack, and checked all the patch and cues to make sure no discrete times wound up in there. Even if I leave the channel up in the cue and hit the OUT button, it still fades instead of snapping.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Darren

Is it random or repeatable ?. When you say "couple of instances" it sounds random.
I'd start by isolating the console. maybe stick a different desk on the DMX lines, with the Ion powered down, do the patch, build a few cues and
see if you can repeat it on a 2nd console.
If you can't repeat the problem it's something in the desk.
Also use About on the channel to see if there's another source grabbing the channel at odd times.
Does paradigm have a snapshot capability for the DMX addresses for that dimmer and is it holding a level ?

Paradigm does have snapshot functions so the dimmer could be included in a house light preset. Paradigm also has manual control from the face panel and even from an internal web page.
Rather than try to tell you about it here, you should call tech support and they can walk you through it and whatever else comes up. This could be be something simple, like a misunderstanding of OUT on the Ion, which has it's own timing. They are very helpful and really know the products.
