Networking Mac laptop to Gio

I'm trying to connect my Macbook to the Gio to mirror the output screen.  I know the network is up and running because the iRFR works on my phone, but the EOS software on my laptop doesn't detect any master consoles when started in Client mode.  Am I doing something wrong or missing a step?

Network setup:

Gio >  Wireless Router (WAN port)  ---->wifi>-----  Laptop.

Laptop is getting IP from the Wireles Router via DHCP.  Subnet is 255.255.0.0  IP range for DHCP is 192.168.x.x  The Gio's IP is 192.168.91.101.   The iRFR works just great on my phone using the same wireless network.

  • In addition, the firewall on the router which keeps the sACN traffic from overheating the rf antenna, is also keeping your client software from "seeing" the console. In addition its prohibiting the console from making handshake with the client software... Running the client from the local side of the router brings its own challenges. Primarily the wifi's desire to bundle the packets to and from its devices over the airwaves, and not have the antenna transmitting all the time. This being said, I agree with ueliriegg that the ONLY way to run the client is by wired connection.
