Chroma Plus Mode 3

The profile for the Chroma Plus Scroller in Mode 3 is missing all of the settings for the second channel:

00-05% = No feature

06-15% = Fan off

16-25% = Fan speed 1 (slowest)

26-35% = Fan speed 2

36-45% = Fan speed 3

46-55% = Fan speed 4 (fastest)

56-65% = Gel Saver off

66-75% = Gel Saver on

76-85% = Motor speed normal

86-95% = Motor speed fast

96- 99% = Reset (reset to user defaults)

Currently the profile will patch two channels, but there is no way to access the second channel features. The profile shows the second channel controlling "Global Fixture Reset". It was easy enough to create a custom fixture to access the second channel features, but we really shouldn't have to[:)]!

Those features are all under Lamp Controls. They don't need to explicitly appear in the fixture parameter list.

So if I want to record those features on a cue by cue basis, how do I do it? In a really quiet scene, I want the fans to go off, when things are at normal volume, I want them back on at full speed. For a dark gel colour, I want Gel Saver on, but I don't want it on all the time. Etc. etc.

Learn a macro to activate the lamp control then use the Cue {Execute} feature to record a cue that triggers the macro. I think the path you're following would involve 2 cues and a hang time since the Mode 3 settings involve sending a value for a couple of seconds then sending a 0.

I guess, I will simply keep my custom profile then. I can do all of this from moving lamp controls when I select the channel for the lamp with the scroller on it. and don't have to deal with hang times and extra cues. I simply select the feature I want from a button and record the cue. There is no need to send a 0, the functions initialise 2 seconds after the channel level is entered. In my opinion, that's how the profile for this accessory should work in the first place. YMMV.
