Need Nomad PC hardware recommendations

I just got a Nomad dongle (256 outputs) and I want to hear from the Nomad users about what they are using and their recommendations as far as hardware.

 

My budget is somewhat limited. So I was thinking:

My Windows 7 desktop (2 cores, 2GB RAM) outputting Art-Net to an Open DMX Ethernet (ODE)

Keyboard, mouse, and X-keys Pro

19" Non-touchscreen monitor for tombstones and PSD

19" Touchscreen 1: Magic Sheet

19" Touchscreen 2: Virtual Keyboard and CIA  

APC UPS

A flight case to hold all this stuff

A small Magliner

 

I already own a desktop computer, magliner, keyboard, mouse, and X-keys Pro.

Also, I would like to have the option to expand my setup with more monitors so when I get good I can rent it out on bigger shows.

 

I would like to know what all you other Nomad users are using. What type of computer are you using, video card(s), the processing power, amount of RAM, number of monitors, brand and size of monitors, monitor configuration, what you use to output DMX, and anything else you might be useful.

    For $280... that's a pretty good deal.

    Nomad will pretty much run on anything, as long as you don't bog down the machine with any other applications.  The same Eos application is running just fine on the old Eos Classic hardware... and that hardware spec was made a long time ago.  With only 256 outputs on your dongle, you're going to hit that limit long before you hit the limit of your hardware.

    I gotta figure 3 monitors will be plenty, especially since you can divide them into frames now.

    i was about to say the same thing. and i'm not even sure, how many monitors nomad can evenhanded sure to check if there is a limit, before you invest in a bunch of monitors. before the new frames, for one nighter tours with a gio i only used one external monitor and now with nomad and the new dividable screens and the three layers and the single screen snapshots, i use my Samsung Ativ 9 ultrabook, which has a touchscreen and sometimes an external (no touch) monitor. ok, maybe i'm a bit extreme in reducing additional monitors. ;)
