Possible to move Encoder Display on Gio?

On the Gio is there any way to display both 'Encoder Display' and parameter tiles at the same time? At the moment they're both using bottom half of right-hand touchscreen, and it'd be good to move one or other to the top half whilst putting everything into palettes.

  • Sadly not but there has been talk about being able to move the CIA. I'm sure you know this but pressing the parameter label in the encoder display will post the parameter to the command line for storing. It helps some of the time.
  • Thanks, Nick. It would be good to be able see the 'Encoder Display' on the Gio at the same time as the CIA (as you can on the Eos). As well as the reason above, the 'Encoder Display' provides a clearer indication of whether there are other parameters associated with each encoder, such as Modes etc. Regarding the posting of the parameter to command line through the encoder label - I was doing this where possible, and it definitely helps for recording single parameter palettes. It was the cases where we wanted to include Mode in the palette where I ended up switching backwards and forwards between 'Encoder Display' and CIA a lot. One other thing was that in some cases the encoder label doesn't match the parameter name in the Live Table. e.g. 'Gobo Ind/Spd 2' parameter is controlled by an encoder labelled 'Gobo Index/Speed 2'. Minor difference but I really wanted to press something that matched the parameter name in the Live Table to be sure I was recording the right thing into the palette. It turns out they are equivalent (e.g. pressing 'Gobo Ind/Spd 2' parameter tile posts 'Gobo Index/Speed 2' to the command line anyway) but it put me off at the time.
