LEDs on touch panel

We have a touch panel that we set presets on so that they can use stage lights during rehearsals without turning on the console. I would like to set it up to turn on my LED instruments to save electricity and lamps. However, I have been told that it is not possible. Is that because they are run off of Universe 2? Or, is there a way to do this?

  • Not much information to go on here. Knowing the type of panel would help. Knowing the way your system is configured, or the model of LED would be useful. If the touch panel is a SmartLink hooked up to a Sensor rack then it is not capable of sending DMX so it can't control the LEDs. You would need to add some other device, possibly powered by the same relay in the rack that powers the LEDs that is preset to send the right sort of signals, or see if the LEDs have a default look when no DMX is present, or some other sort of not-quite-normal configuration.
