Definitive answer on Ion Touchscreens

Hi All,

I'm in the process of purchasing an Ion, however I'm receiving conflicting information on the touchscreen model. Both Jeremy and the ETC Knowledgebase spec an ELO 1915L. My dealer however has specced an ELO 1928L, and tell me this is the model ETC have advised.

As far as I can tell (and I've called the UK distributor to confirm) the 1915L has no DVI input; only VGA. Doesn't this make it unsuitable for the Ion? It's also a special order item with limited availability; I was quoted 3-5 weeks.

Rather confused, so some clarification would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

John

  • In Europe we use :

Elo TouchSystems 1928L --- 19" Touch Monitor with VGA + DVI (this model has different versions, one of which only has VGA - so read the specs on that product!)

So we purchased one and it works fine. Just have to be careful because that model number has 3x different versions, one of which doesnt have a dvi output.

But maybe Anne could add more to this ... ?

Well, if the 1928L is indeed the correct monitor, I think the correct part number should be E874209.

I can't find any mention of a model without DVI... all in that range seem to have it. The only differences seem to be Accu-Touch/Intelli-Touch/No Touch, and beige/dark grey options.

  • I would recommend Accu-Touch. This is what we use at ETC Ltd.

E874209 Dark Grey or E313143 Beige both have DVI input and work with another DVI Flatscreen that may not be touch-based.

  • Elo sells MANY different configurations of touch screens. The Elo model numbers are not very helpful. The part numbers that Erik listed are verified to work with Eos and Ion.

Here are the requirements from the Eos/Ion side...

    1. Must support 1280x1024 resolution (this rule out all of the 15" dispalys.)

    2. Must use Elo AccuTouch touch screen

    3. Must include DVI input.

    Hope this helps...
