Ion has a delay after hitting the go button

I have never experienced this issue before. My console seems to be experiencing a delay randomly after hitting the go button. Currently our console has the most recent software release and we are in the midst of our second show. We did not have this problem prior to this show. We do have a small handful of non-conventional units (3 VL3500s, 24 CXI scrollers). It seems to be an intermittent problem so I can not pinpoint one particular instance that triggers this. Any ideas?

  • Hi Kearston,

1.) What Software Version is on the Console? You can see the Version when you press the ABOUT Key and the command line is cleared.

2.) Can you exit the Ion Software to the Shell -> Settings -> Administration -> Facepanel Test and make sure GO Button consistently and immediatel reacts? (100+ trys)

3.) what is being delayed? the start of channels changing in a Cue? Maybe those channels have discrete timing/Delays on them in certain keys. Is there a plus symbol in the cue list for those keys?

4.) If still no explanation, send the logfiles from the console to service (:a:T:) etcconnect.com with this description and exact day/hour/minute and which cue numbers are delayed when go is pressed. We will then get back to u.

  • Thank you for your quick response. We are currently in tech and I will try the facepanel test once we are done tonight. We are running 2.2 software. The entire cue is delayed when the go button is pressed. It is not a particular cue either. As I said before, it is very intermittent and inconsistent.
  • Is it the cue live, onstage, or the cue list display? I have seen a delay in the video display, but no effect on stage. Trying a deep clear might also help. Do you have lots of magic sheets bogging down displays?
