maybe i'm misunderstanding what you're trying to do, but i think the Address object in MS is what you're looking for. insert an object and then change its target to Address

That works. Thanks Ueli. I overlooked the address and went right to Channel by Address

So this works for visual feedback to see that the fixture is on. But it doesn't allow me to touch the object and bring it like a channel. It brings it up as an address. So once the command line clears it returns to its previous level. Not sure if there is a work around for this.

ah, you're right. i can only think of cheating. have a tiny address object and a bigger channel object close by. i usually even put a transparent object with target = none on top of address objects to avoid getting the addresses to my command line (which e.g. in a park display can be really really annoying...)

Yeah that's exactly what I ended up doing. Just a transparent object on top set to the corresponding channel.
