LED Effects on ION

Probably staring me right in the face but how can I make an effect with led's that runs ONLY the one color per step.
Say I want a Red Green effect cause it is Christmas. I created it as Absolute and picked my two Color Palettes; red for one step and green for the other but when it runs it goes through yellows also because it is running through the picker that way. Shouldn't led's be able to switch without having to blend?

  • I set one of the times to 1 and the other to 0 which is exactly reverse of what it was set at. Can't remember which was which as I am going from memory at this time. Hectic getting this show together. Whatever it is it worked!!!! Now all I have to do is figure out how to cause it to fade from color to color instead of flash. Perhaps more than 1 second but don't know if that will cause it to go back to what it was originally doing.
  • The Time column determines the fade between colors. The Dwell column sets how long it stays on that step before starting the next step. Note that having some fade time will give you the yellow that you first asked about. A workaround would be to have a black step in between each color step. So the red would fade in and then out before the green would come on at all. The time on a black step would be your fade down rate and the time on a color step would be the fade up rate. I would put a 0 dwell on the black step to keep a continuous feel to the effect. FYI: this has nothing to do with LEDs, just think of it as if each fixture was 2 lights with red and green gel. You would get the same blended color with both on at any time.
